Medical Terminology for Health Professions, Spiral bound Version (8th Edition) Edit edition This problem has been solved: Solutions for Chapter 2 …
The types of disease transmission mentioned in the chapter are indirect contact, bloodborne , airborne , food and water borne, and vector-borne transmission.
In the student’s classroom these transmission types may have occurred:
-Indirect contact: many students have touched the lab tables and other contaminated surfaces, but failed to wash their hands and one student rubbed her eyes with it.
-Airborne: a student coughed without covering his mouth, pathogens in his throat may have been released to the air.
-Waterborne: two students are sharing a bottle of water. Most labs do not allow food or drinks inside the labs as food items may be contaminated within the lab.
There was no bloodborne because no contact of blood occurred. There was no foodborne because food was not consumed. There was no vector-borne because no insects or rodents were mentioned.
